About Jack

Jack Donovan Gargalino was born on March 22, 2001, and raised in Chesterfield Township Michigan by his Parents Shawn and Nicole.  Throughout his childhood, he displayed intelligence, humor and actively participated in sports such as football, baseball and wrestling. Family meant the world to Jack. Whether at a backyard BBQ as the “reigning and defending” washer champ, hanging out at the family restaurant or getting together for family game night, he loved being with his family. Jack’s charisma and quick wit made it easy for him to make friends wherever he went. He could walk into a room of 5 strangers and walk out with 5 new friends, but it was time with “the boys” that he cherished most. From the early days of “tripper” and baseball on the side lot, to later days of a tree fort and bon fires, his truest happiness was spending time with them. In his free time, you could also find Jack on his favorite golf course, Oakridge, playing the game he loved the most.

As Jack grew older, he had a strong aspiration to become a police officer and serve in the United States Air Force.  In late 2021, Jack vigorously chased his goal of becoming a member of the Air Force and passed all his entrance requirements.  Scoring within the top 10 percent of all applicants, Jack was well within his reach of serving his country and was scheduled to meet with his recruiter on January 27, 2022 to select his career choice in the Air Force Academy.

On January 22, 2022, approximately 1 week before entering basic military training, Jack lost his life in a automobile accident.  In commemoration of his memory, the Jack Gargalino Memorial Foundation was established.  This foundation works towards granting scholarships to students pursuing a career in Law Enforcement and providing financial aid to police officers injured while carrying out their duties.  The foundation’s operation is made possible through generous donations.
